Astrology of Aug 2-8, 2026

GENERAL OVERVIEW

The week of August 2-8 features a sober yet supportive trine between Saturn and the Sun, as well as Venus’s movement into her home sign of Libra, where she will be for part of her next retrograde cycle. We are also working our way into eclipse season (the exact eclipse dates are Aug 12 and 28) which typically promises a flood of dramatic events which move our stories forward in exciting (and sometimes overwhelming) ways.

Saturn is said to be “in its fall” in Aries, because the planet of responsibility and limitation – which generally strives to build things that will last a long time – can be coaxed into more impulsive decision-making while spending time in the fast-paced fire sign. In contrast, the Sun is at home and centerstage in charismatic Leo. In the trine alignment that builds throughout the week and culminates on Thursday, Saturn suggests a lens of structure and discipline as we view the things the Sun is illuminating; and in Leo, this means leadership opportunities, creativity, and a sense of self-sovereignty. This aspect has the potential to highlight how these planets can compliment one another; but with Saturn in Aries, there are questions about how helpful the Saturnian gravitas will be for the luminary.

Also happening Thursday, Venus begins her annual trip through Libra where she actively hones in on establishing harmony in personal relationships and justice in the social order. The Libra sector of your chart is bound to get a little extra love during this time. Check out the reading for your rising sign below to get a better idea for how this might show up for you.

Finally, on Wednesday and Thursday the Moon will take its monthly stroll through Taurus – where it is said to have its exaltation. This time around, the fast-moving planet of emotion will form aspects with underworldly Pluto, optimistic Jupiter, and the Sun. Last week, we had a full moon right next to Pluto while the Sun and Jupiter were in opposition to it; and this moon in Taurus may give us another perspective on the issues that came to a head last Wednesday. This is a time to reflect and integrate.

IMPORTANT REMINDER: When reading your sign-specific information below, keep in mind that astrology is based on a system of archetypes that could manifest in countless ways. For example, a transit in your 3rd house – which deals with activities and relationships which take form in early childhood and in your local neighborhood – could correspond to an event that occurs during your morning commute; or it could indicate something happening in the life of a sibling. Use the readings below as symbolic information helping you reflect on the events unfolding in your life, both internally and externally.
